We offer TACKLE football for younger kids starting at 5. We are getting a lot of questions about the 5-6 yr old division, so its easier to answer all the questions at once.
What makes this division different?
This is a training division. The focus for this group should be introducing proper technique and really teaching the game, in a fun way for 5 and 6 year olds. Rookie tackle is a great program for this age. There are also no kick off or kick off return and no 3 point stance.
Is this tackle? Its not flag right?
Yes it is tackle and no it is not flag! It is tackle just like the older kids, it just focuses on teaching the younger kids in a fun and safe way so they learn to love the game. The kids are able to learn to play every position, learn fundamentals but also have games just like the older kids.
Do they wear pads?
Yes, they wear the same exact uniform as the older tackle boys. They have a helmet and should pads on, so this is a good age to get kids use to their football uniform.
